"Watched the politicians like wild weeds they grow
Poison this world with fear and sorrow
Make laws that inhibit, and words that increase
The pain in your life while their pockets they grease. "
Love these words Roger, you're screamin out the words of truth brother. Could just see you singin on the corner in front of the white house on this one, if you need someone to hold an umbrella to keep the sun or rain outta your eyes I'm there :D So glad I visited your musicpage tonite, what a treat!
Great words, great delivery, love your vocals on this one, accusatory almost, citizens don't ever get to ask those in power a damn question, so yeah I love how you say it in this song.....keep singin the truth Roger, you do it the best here on SC ;)
And STAY green, good lord we all need something to make it thru this planet and survive with our sanity....if it ain't hurtin' no one, stay green. Thanks for sharing your mind and music with us Roger...you rock!

Its definetly your time friend, this is what we need, reminds me of the 60's so much l feel as if l am back to the viet days, when we protested with our music...and people heard us. There's as much of a need for the artist (our conscience) to speak out as there's ever been. Such a large majority of the popular music these days is such mindless crap. This has purpose. A modern day homage to all the great protest tunes since Vietnam. Unfortunately the subject matter remains just as poignant today. Great work, please continue to write these.

Hi Roger, thanks for the station add - really appreciate it.
This is a great song, the lyrics sum up what many of us are thinking. This song highlights the fact that the people running the world are the ones who are creating most of the misery. It's outrageous that we are being controlled by those who are getting things so horribly wrong. Excellent writing, this track conveys our feelings perfectly.

Hi Roger,
Well, well they dont write them like this anymore. This stands up with any protest song of the 60s. Excellent painting the landscape with your words.
A very difficult area to get into in our PC world we live in. Ironically the peaceniks of the 60s are the ones who are taking our freedoms and trying to turn this into the United Soviet States of America. I am guessing we are on different sides of the political spectrum but freedom and our constitution that supports that freedom is the glue that has held this republic together for over 200 years.
Loved the Harmonica. A real Bob Dylan meets Joe cocker sound. Good work. And thanks for coming by.

Hey there Roger,
I love the lyrics in this one too.....you laid it all out so very well~!!! I also like the ghostly effect with the vocals in harmony, a most subtle way to symbolize this situation about big government and the errosive effect that it's having on humankinds' daily lives....and the melody was perfect for this protest ballad....excellent performance on the harp & the guitar.....another chart topper, Roger!!!!!!!!
Highest regards for you,
Wade

Really love the lyrics to this song...very true. It's a sad statement of how our goverment can destory at will, and imprison us for no good reason at all. Great writing and a heartfelt performance!!!!!! Keep up the super work!
Peace
