I started playing this riff and it got stuck in my head. It sounded like a celebration. I struggled with the lyric and my vocal ability limited the chorus. In the end I came to the conclusion that less is more.

The Bad Hawaiian Shirts is a solo project but I am open to bringing in other musicians to collaborate from time to time. I record for the fun of it, in the basement"Almost all the early recordings were instrumentals but I am now experimenting with vocals.

Story behind the song
I recorded this song several times, I tried several guitars but settled on my Fender Strat. The vocal wars a challenge. I tried several different mics, turned up and turned down the reverb and tried double tracking. In the end I settled for pretty clean vocal with a little reverb. The mic is a Shure SM57
