A peace song....Hank wrote this, but never recorded it himself. I have not heard the song, but the phrasing and intended chords give me the indication that it was from his early gospel writing period. A small portion is from John Lennon.

No claims of being a performer. I just give it what little I've taught myself musically by songwriting. Recorded by mic, straight to computer as sound on sound.
Born at an early age, I was just a kid at the time....from there memory escapes me, until 2000 or 2001 when I decided to teach myself guitar. In order to teach myself guitar, I took to writing songs. From there, I added bass and occasionally, harmonica and a small touch of electric guitar. Not much of a performer, but I love to experiment writing songs. So, it's nine or ten years into it so far....and I've only scratched the surface with tons to learn. Maybe, you'll find something you like on the nearly three pages, I've loaded so far....Comments are welcome, I don't expect all comments to be favorable, but objectively constructive. I make no claims of being a performer....I just give it my best with what little that I've taught myself both musically and in songwriting. All songs are either written, played and sang by myself or my attempt at covering a song by my favorite artists.

Story behind the song
I had found the words and intended chords for this Hank Williams song that he never recorded. I have not heard the song, so it is a best guess based on the phrasing and the chords, which I believe would be early in his writing career when he was writing gospel songs. I added part of a John Lennon song, which I feel goes along with the flow. So, apologies to the memories of these great artists.... I felt, I had to give it a try.
Lyrics
Peace Will Come (Give Peace a Chance) Hank Williams \ John Lennon (alternative lyrics by Wade Farlowe 4/26/2009) (e) I'm praying for the day, when the (a) whole wide world can say, That this (e) cruel war is now (b7) o'er, And the (e) ones who are gone, start their (a) long journey home, Oh I'm (e) praying for the (b7) day when peace will (e) come. When the black clouds roll away, and the skies are bright all day, And the guns are silenced forever more, When the bombs no longer fly, from the planes up in the sky, Oh I'm praying for the day when peace will come. Oh there's your momma and your dad, don't you know they'll be so glad, To see their child's a comin' home to stay, This whole world will rock with joy, for freedom...girls and boys Oh I'm praying for the day when peace will come. Sweethearts and loves so dear, who have waited for this year, When their loved ones would safely return, This whole world will come to play, on that great and happy day, Oh I'm praying for the day when peace will come. (e)Calling all(a)nations, give peace a (e)chance (e)All we are (b7)sayin' (a7)give peace a (c)chance(em)(e)

This sould be our National Anthem we really love it. Hank had it right then and it still applies to our mordern times! The retro phonograph scratches captures that nastalgic era of days gone past. And your vocals were sounding great...as always!!!!!!!! The bass was thumping strong and true , it kept the melody strong. The acoustic is such a pleasure to listen to love that rich mellow tone. And you played it with style my friend! The lyrics are top notch and Hank would be proud also John would be honored too. We are proud you have produced this wonderful protest tune, that's what the world needs more of. We were so glad to have a listen and will revisit it often. We do invite people to explore the lyrics, and see how, then & now...hasn't changed. And there is some thing wrong with that!!!!!! LL&Peace through ~Wade~ Jerry & Candace Fans of our ~WadeStar~ ;) :) What you doin on that side Candace?
