Norwood Basement Band plays blues, hard rock, classic rock, keyboards, piano, funk, instrumental rock and acoustic and electric guitar music, with jommin' drums
The first stint of this band formed in the late 80's and played into the early 90's. We recorded two albums. The genre then was blues/rock/jazz fusion, featuring keyboards, drums, electric guitars and a dash of piano. Back then we had 5 members total: two drummers, two guitarists and one keyboardist/pianist. I have kept the name for an updated version. Right now, there are two members, myself (guitars) and my son (drummer, sound engineer).

Story behind the song
I pick up my son's Squier and he sits at his drums. We just wanna play together sometimes. We usually do one take, then turn on the recorder (in this case, Magix Audio Studio - Generation 6 w/ SoundBlaster X-fi card). All mikes piped through a tiny 6-channel mixing board. My son played on Tama drums w/ Ziljian cymbals, myself playing his Squier Strat using a Fender amp. We both played on the fly here, so what came out, did. Loosely based on material I'd been toying with on an acoustic, plus a riff my son concocted. Partly another hybrid of "Old Man Winter", as was "River Mist". One of these days, I'm going to have to finish "Old Man Winter". The name here, "Rock Session 1", was my son's choosing. Nothing in particular...just a session.
