Music itself is mostly composed in an authentic way in the classical music except the many changes in the time signatures. I cannot explain why I employed such a way. It came into my head just like an inspiration. I wrote the sheet music as it was.

Story behind the song
This short but lovely piece was intended to be composed dedicated to Prof. Peter L. Silveston at University of Waterloo, my partner in research and writing a book and some articles at the time. His birthday is in March. And I and my friends around there were waiting for him back from Switzerland. And then we received a call from Switzerland telling that he was heavily injured by a skiing accident. So, he had to lie down on his bed VERY STILL. A proverb, "Still waters run deep" made me get an idea for the piece and the title. Prof. Bob Hudgins at the same university gave me an advice that I could use the verb "lie". He also said that Prof. Silveston was just like an arctic bear, not able to be STILL! That's the story behind the music. This piece has very strange way of the time signatures. But I feel the music has the certainty to have such a strange structure in the time signatures. Special thanks to Prof. Bob and the late Ms. Carol Hudgins.
